Full Speed Ahead...

I'll keep it short today as I actually have a lot to do before I have sit in meetings all week next week.

I HAVE A LOST DOG! Jackie O took off yesterday and someone probably grabbed her - but if you see a senseless black pug running around the historic distirct please pick her up and bring her to get her spanking.  Hopefully the pound has her-

Rehearsal went really well yesterday - I think - We blocked a whole ACT (that was the plan) but it's always good to achieve your goals.  On to ACT II today - have to get Mr. March and Prof. Baher on stage.

I'm going to Clyde, North Carolina this weekend to see my family.  There is a CAMP that both my mother and my younger sister attended and still currently work for.  We shall venture up there for some mountain time.

And Just Like That It's Gone...

Arrgghhhh....

I just BLOGGED for like 10 min. and lost it when I tried to post it!  I hate when that happens!

It was some jargin about time flying:  See

Then there was some stuff about starting new - and fresh - and not being caught off guard by the expectations of next year.  I knwo this synopsis is really not as good as the BLOG but I'm not going to sit here and try to think of what I just wrote and what exactly I said.

You'll just have to come and find me to find out what happens today in the world of OHTS.
I do know it is our first rehearsal.  That is pretty weird and sweet -

Money, it's a drag...

It's comin at me from all sides.  It's the end of the month and I have had two mini vacations (not complaining about that) but I am coasting on fumes unti next tuesday.  It's gonna be a great weekend.

Also - the budget for Little Women isn't really matching up to the funds that we currently hold.  Oh yeah I also decided to do another show this year - that's right - how am I gonna pay for that?  There isn't much time in our schedule to do fund raisers.  Our shows are supposed to be our fund raisers, right?  Well, I guess that only works if you convince people that they need to come see your show.  Ahhh well, back to the drawing board.

Still working in the Theatre.  I'm not needed as much as I thougt.Cry
However, you learn a lot when you stand around and watch.Wink

Those of you I haven't talked to in a while - I hope I talk to you soon.

Techie Day!

I'll be in the theatre today working with ANDY from Tampa.  He's a pretty cool guy.  He's a one man band.  We are (well he is and I'm standing by) replacing the arbor that ran away in the theatre.  Theatre terms are cool - they make things sound so much more intense then they really might be.  So I'm going to go stop the ARBOR from running away.  Ha ha...

That is not really ANDY...but it is a one man band!

Don't have much time or much to say today anyway.  Thinking a lot about PRIORITIES lately - not for me - yeah right - but for the students (especially those that I work with a lot).  Talk to you soon hopefully.

The only thing worse...

than finding out that you only have one left of something.  Is when you realize that you have less than one left of this specific something.

For me this something is days.  Less than one week until we break the ice on Little Women.  I actually probably need to have a meeting this Thursday or Friday to make sure these kids have their heads screwed on straight.  I've only done a play in less time "once" before.  We are barely going to have 1 month to nail this one down.

Costumes have been ordered, T-Shirts are made, posters are in the process.  This thing is going to happen a lot sooner than most of us are expecting.

I think almost everyone is back from vacation - that only means those darn students are right around the corner.

Another Fall another dollar. That is all I get for the fall.  $1.00. I should probably ask for more in the spring.

And then there was 1...

and I have this strange feeling that it wouldn't have hurt to start rehearsals today.  However that would seem impossible as we have major repair work going on in the theatre this week.  So we shall start a new next week.  However (again - yes 2 however in on paragraph) that merely leaves:

1 week until the Little Women show up (hopefully) and

1 day until I need to get cleaning and inventory done in the theatre so this is all for today.

Time to Janitor -

Best Custodian besides Jimmy Mc.

1 more thing - I can't believe the summer is over.  Sorry to bum you out!

More or less later - I'll be in the theatre cleaning...

Friday, not so fun day -

Have to go and test today - I almost thought about taking the test just to pass the time - you know stay sharp on those skills.  Then I thought, what are you thinking?  Which I then thought was funny.  After it was all said and done - I decided that I had done enough thinking for the day.

Really need to clean up the theatre for next week - but I need some motivation - ohh which of my strapping young students will show up to help me clean.  I have to get all of that kind of stuff done by Monday at 4:00 pm.  We shall see...

Well I really do have to go - turns out I wasn't so late yesterday I was on time - and today I shall be the same.  Little Women actually is really really close to starting and I'm pretty excited to get the ball rolling - as usual I'm sure it will be over before we know it.  Talk to you soon hopefully -

I want some of these!

Sand in the IPod...

I plugged in my IPod to charge and sand crunched -

That is not good for many reasons:  Mainly because vacation is over and I'm charging my IPod, but also because - well, there is sand in the IPod.  I guess it's good because it means I was in a place where there was lots of sand and I was listening to music, but that is neither here nor there - just some early morning rambling.

Wanna play a stupid game - think about the first word or technically noise that you actually say out loud every day.  Try to save it and make it something worth your while.  I used to not make any noises until I thought about what it was I wanted to say first that day.  It's stupid I know - I told you that already.

Vacation was great - went by really fast - slept on the beach - read on the beach - ate on the beach - lived on the beach - oh and played some tennis on the tennis couts not on the beach.  Took a stop in Luverne, AL yesterday where my father grew up.  It's almost as small as Tidwell's Jasper.  Visited with some old friends, blew my weight watcher points on "The Famous Chicken Shack"  and stopped by to pay respects to my grandparents - it was nice.

Fresh from the Chicken Shack

Back to work today with a lot of cleaning to do before next weeks invasion.  Then it's all over!  Oh crap I am supposed to be helping with the tetsing. Gotta go-

Glorious Day...

Vacation Day - I'm leaving tonight, tonight I'm going to the beach tonight.  (To be sung like West Side Story)  Today is so glorious that I didn't wake up and go to the gym...I guess I wanted to look extra chubby on the beach for the next 5 days!

I believe I get to go see the new KROGER at 9:00 am today.  Exciting news in a small town.  I will be transporting Dr. G Stanley Cox (Principal of Opelika High School) for security and a photo opportunity.  You know I love those.

First official meeting of the summer with the Little Women from 1-3 today - I'm sure they won't forget.  I wonder what I'm going to ask them to make sure they have been preparing???

Shipment for repair came in yesterday - I believe we will be under repair July 23 - July 28

No Stu this isn't our theatre...

I'll talk to you soon hopefully - I shall try to BLOG a few times from the beach.  I'll do my best not to get sand in the computer.

Were you waiting?

I seriously doubt it.  However if you were waiting and I am late getting you your latest news about nothing for the day - then I apologize.

It is Wednseday as if you didn't know.  I get to leave on Thursday night for San Destin.  I believe you can cite that information from previous BLOGs.

I don't have much news of my own:
Most of the times and Little Women have been contacted for tommorow.
Heard about some NYC trips over the last couple of weeks.  I wish I had a story.
Finishing up cleaning and organizing in the Theatre so that we can be restored.
Spelling Bee is Friday in the Choral Room.
I wish they would stop inticing us with IPhone commercials.
Rehearsal in 11 Days or something insane like that.
Saw student from the past yesterday - enjoyed talking about old times.
8th & Rail is having their anniversary celebration - that is pretty big news.
MONK - E - MAIL is funny no matter how old or how matrue you are.  (Look into it.)

Those are just some of my current thoughts.  Boring huh.

Good Morning Theatre Friends and Family...

My Old School Project
I'm not a big fan of Tuesday's (except in the week where I get to go to the beach) but not to get side tracked.  Most everyone will complain on a Monday, so I make it a point never to be that person on a Monday.  Really if you think about it Mondays aren't that bad.  It's the day that is coming off a two day break, and just cause you have to go back to work - you should at least feel rejuvinated (sp?), I mean right.

Now Tuesadays, there is really nothing to look foward too.  The weekend is only one day behind you and three days away from you.  It's not the middle - it's not the begining.  It's just really -Tuesday.  So become a Tuesday person and not a Monday - casue I just think that Monday gets a lot of grief.

*of course this is all null and void if Thursday night you are going to Florida.  Have I mentioned that yet?  That I'm going to Florida.  Man I love Tuesday.

Lot's of work to do and little motivation.  I need motivation through vacation.  I shall get it soon enough.  Arrggghhh.

It's really here...

That could mean lots of things - ultimately.

To me it means that this Friday it is almost time for SUMMER VACATION.  I've had my little trips and my little fun get aways - However I shall go for almost an entire week (This Friday) to the sunny sandy so so spectacular San Destin.  Give me a holla if you are down my way.

Yes, that is me in the bikini...

I'm a little early on the BLOG today, but this is about when I'm going to have to do it during the school year - if I can keep it up.  It's really not that hard and only takes like 2 min. so I feel that I should definetly do it.

Going to try and have costume measurement day this Thursday at the Cox Household at scheduled times.  So I'll be calling all of the little women and men.  Let's just hope they dont' shrink or grow before September.  Wow that sounds really close - September.  Say it with me.  Good.  Now, relax.

Enjoy those wanning days of summer.  For they are very long but quick.

Thanks...

Thanks to all of those readers out there.  I really enjoy the comments.  That actually let's you know someone is reading.  I've been trying my best to keep up.  We'll have to see how much the school year effects my BLOGGING ability.

Not much going on today.  There is noone in the office except Dr. Cox and Mr. Farmer.  So I went up there and helped out my fellow bretheren.

School is about to start - or at least everything else is.  I hear the beach a callin my name.  1 week from today my last vacation.

Fortunate...

While I'm working inventory - and let me tell you if you've never done inventory for anything anywhere before - consider yourself very lucky.  It's boring, it's monotonous, which is really the same thing as boring which just goes to show you how unrewarding it seems.

It does leave a lot of time to think however, which is always nice.  Started to think about how fortunate we are to have what we have in the theatre, and yet it seems like I or we always want more.  In theatre it's more of a "need" more as well as a "want" more, but it's not that different from every day life.  I want a lot of things right now that seem unobtainable (If they don't stop showing those stupid IPhone commercials I may have to order one...), but I think if one is willing to work and at least exasperate their effort towards something -  then nothing is really unobtainable.

Whatever that means - as usual as goes theatre so goes the Days of our Lives...cue the music-

Wednesday Holiday...

I was discussing with some of the city employee gentlemen that play morning basketball about middle of the week holidays.  They could at least give us the day before or maybe the day after off.  Then however we would come to work on Monday or Friday, that would be weird, and that would cause complaining also.  So I won't complain, even though I just kind of did, and I'll work today - because lord knows 27 days isn't quite as funny as 28 days was to me.  There aren't any movie references.

Hal Smith's Big Cat is looking good - not to steal Dr. Jerry Katz's thunder.  Which, if you don't know about his thunder you should read his BLOG daily at www.jerrykatz.cc .

Any way I'll be in the PAC of O today - Lighting Inventory!  Anyone wanna come help?  Didn't think so.

Guess who's back...

Well I'm back from Lometa/Dallas Texas...I'll have to get some photos up when the wife gets back.  Luckily we didn't wash away with the rest of Kansas and Oklahoma.  Didn't get to ride a horse, but I got to eat homade cheese cake.  (Yes I know it's not on the diet)

Hope nothing major happened while I was gone.  You know how I hate to miss the big events.

So I looked at the calender and it reads July 2nd.  That's pretty intense.  That means 28 days until Little Women Rehearsal starts, and only about a month until we are back at the daily grind.
Better get those butts in gear.  Especially the one I'm sittin on right now.  So I'm going to the OPAC if you need me or can't find me chances are I'm in there - for good.

COSTUME MEASUERMENT DATE for LITTLE WOMEN is going to be MONDAY JULY 9th.   If you are not going to be in town I need to measure you this week sometime.  I'll be calling you and seeing you SOON.
